The price of each edit is calculated based on the length of the document and the level of editing you require. I am happy to complete a sample edit for you*, the cost of which will be waived if you choose to assign your full editing project to me.
I generally charge an hourly rate under contract (CAD$60/hr), but I can also charge by the page (250 words per page) if you prefer. Prices quoted are for documents of 50 pages or less and based on a "normal" technical document that requires an "average" edit. Once I have received your file we can discuss your requirements, including your desired turnaround time. Turnaround time is dependent on the size and complexity of your document.
For manuscripts that require multiple revisions, each subsequent edit is subject to additional fees.
Unless under contract, I require a deposit of a minimum of 25% of the estimated total before editing commences. The balance will be due in full within 14 days of the date of the final invoice.
The estimate is subject to change. Should I decide upon receipt of the document that there will be significant changes to my estimate, I will contact you immediately to discuss a revised total.
All prices quoted are in Canadian dollars.
* A sample edit will be a two page section from your manuscript. Payment for the sample edit is required before editing begins.
